The Bulgarian Border Guard has selected Austria-based special mission systems integrator Airborne Technologies to service and modernise all the special mission equipment on its entire fleet over the next four years.

Following a successful collaboration in 2019, where the Border Guard’s helicopters were outfitted with cameras and workstations, this new contract with Airborne Technologies is set to complete the modernisation of the entire fleet.

The helicopters will be equipped with the FLIR Star Safire 380 HD EO/IR camera, an ECS Line of Sight Downlink and a carbon fibre tactical workstation. Airborne LINX, ABT’s mission management system, completes the integration and guarantees a smooth and easy-to-handle interplay of the sensors on board the platform.

“We are proud that the Bulgarian Border Guard has chosen us for the second time,” says Wolfgang Grumeth, CEO of Airborne Technologies. “This confidence shows the value of our solutions and the importance of customer satisfaction. Only satisfied clients become loyal clients.”
