TCCA ticks EASA STC for PC-12 with seven-blade MT prop
This installation is also already certified by FAA SA02742NY.
The Silent 7 defines a new level of comfort and performance that no turboprop aircraft has ever achieved before.

Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) has issued the letter of acceptance for EASA STC 10014953 R.6 for the installation of the Silent 7 propeller MTV-47-1-N-C-F-R(P)/CFR260-361 on the Pilatus PC-12 series aircraft with P&W PT6A-67B, P&W PT6A-67P or P&W PT6E-67XP propeller turbines. This installation is also already certified by FAA under certificate SA02742NY.

The Silent 7 defines a new level of comfort and performance that no turboprop aircraft has ever achieved before. MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says that the installation of the seven-bladed MT-Propeller on the PC-12 features the following advantages:

- No engine modifications necessary

- Certified ground roll distance reduced by approximately 10 per cent; AFMS amended

- Certified take off distance over 50ft obstacle reduced by approximately 15 per cent; AFMS amended

- Climb performance improved

- Aircraft noise level is about four dB(A) less than with the original metal propeller

- Cabin noise is reduced by six to seven dB(A) depending on location

- Complies with the strict German Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung noise regulations of 2010 for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

Due to its smaller diameter, the seven-bladed MT-Propeller for the PC-12 has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs. Natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction, have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide the best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
