US Part 135 Reynolds Jet has named James Murray as chief executive officer. Since joining the company as president in 2021, Murray has overseen the day-to-day operations of the business and has been instrumental in doubling Reynolds Jet's fleet of managed aircraft, expanding its customer base and developing key verticals. During this time, he has worked closely with company founder J Mercer Reynolds on developing strategies for optimising the company's potential for growth. Murray has since become a full equity partner in the business and recently assumed the position of CEO. Reynolds is transitioning to the role of chairman where he will focus on broader strategic initiatives and additional revenue sources.
“Reynolds Jet has always been focused on providing top-tier service to our customers, while adhering to the most stringent safety and operational standards,” says Reynolds. “I have known James for over a decade, and he shares those same core values while also bringing extensive hands-on operational leadership experience. He has been a great asset to the company as we've navigated our growth path these last three years and is the best person to lead the next phase of the company's transformation.”
Murray has been a devout customer and operational excellence advocate in the private aviation industry since 2000, with demonstrable growth, innovation and leadership expertise. He is also a commercial pilot, holding type-ratings in the Cessna CJ series (CE525) and Bombardier Challenger 604 (CL604).
