Avflight network earns NATA sustainability certification
NATA certification supports Avflight’s network-wide initiative to promote sustainable aviation operations. This is in addition to working with Beta Tech to install electric charging stations in key locations.
All 22 eligible FBOs in Avflight's US-based network are now certified as NATA Green Aviation Business – Tier 1.

All 22 eligible FBOs in Avflight's US-based network are now certified as Green Aviation Business – Tier 1 under the National Air Transportation Association’s Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses. This is the first time the global FBO has received this designation and illustrates the company’s overall commitment to sustainability.

“Sustainability is at the forefront of Avflight’s values, and we are immensely proud of this achievement,” says Garrett Hain, vice president of finance and treasurer. “To have one of our locations certified is exciting; but for all 22 eligible US locations to hold the title is a major accomplishment and amplifies our commitment to sustainability.”

Avflight’s network comprises 23 locations in whole; its recently-acquired Avflight Hattiesburg FBO at Hattiesburg Laurel Regional airport in Mississippi will apply for certification in the year to come once it has 12 months’ worth of data to submit as required.

As part of the tier 1 certification process, all 22 Avflight locations established a baseline carbon footprint, submitted an environmental policy, phased out single-use products in kitchen/dining areas and confirmed utilisation of: a local recycling programme; paperless processes; LED lighting; a filtered water fill station; motion-sensor lighting; energy-star rated kitchen appliances; and low-flow plumbing fixtures.

“At Avflight, we continuously look for ways to decrease our network’s footprint, whether it's in our operations or the solutions we offer our customers, and always strive to be on the leading edge of sustainability initiatives,” adds Hain.

The NATA certification supports Avflight’s broader, network-wide initiative to promote sustainable aviation operations and is an exciting addition to other ongoing measures, including working with Beta Technologies to install electric charging stations in key locations.
