Starling Aerospace was recently commissioned by northeast UK-based business jet operator Naljets to undertake a complete interior upgrade for its Cessna Citation CJ aircraft.
As the only longstanding business jet charter company based in the northeast, flying from Newcastle International airport, also with offices in the Isle of Man and hangarage at Biggin Hill airport, Naljets appointed Starling Aerospace to deliver the project, from design to installation, which took approximately three months.
In 2023, the aircraft interiors specialist, located between London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, says it was the first UK aerospace company to operate a three-in-one CNC perforating, stitching and embroidery combined machine, which was used to create a bespoke, intricate pattern for the new seat covers.
Commenting on the handover of its Citation CJ, Naljets founder and director Craig McLeod says: “We are delighted with the completion of a major bespoke cabin upgrade and refresh for our Cessna Citation CJ, which was executed beautifully and professionally by our colleagues at Starling Aerospace. Thanks to the expertise and craftsmanship of its skilled team, our aircraft has undergone a truly remarkable transformation that transcends mere refurbishment, creating sleek design and enhanced comfort to exacting detail. We are thrilled with the result, which will also be greatly appreciated by our discerning customers.”
Starling’s co-founding director Coralie Wigg adds: “Our mission is to create beautiful aircraft interiors, and this project with Naljets provided an opportunity to showcase our capabilities and exceed the client’s expectations. Having invested significantly in CAD-based machinery, we are able to deliver any design for leather and fabric, no matter how complex. Seeing the end result was very rewarding for Starling’s team.”
