Babcock announces new contract with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Babcock has been by MAAC's side for the last 33 years and is now contracted for 10 more. It operates Airbus helicopters and provides ground support, engineering and pilots for pre-hospital emergency care flights.
Babcock has safely and effectively supported and managed MAAC's fleet of Airbus helicopters, helping the charity deliver more than 75,000 lifesaving missions.

Following a competitive tendering process, Babcock has been awarded a new contract by the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which will add long term resilience to its pre-hospital emergency care flight operations.

A specialist in air ambulance operations, Babcock will continue as MAAC's exclusive aviation partner for the next 10 years, operating its fleet of Airbus helicopters as well as providing ground support, engineering and pilots.

Babcock has been by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's side since the charity started operating over 33 years ago and together they have responded to over 75,000 lifesaving missions, flying 365 days a year, 12 hours a day, from bases at Cosford, Strensham and Tatenhill.

As part of the contract, Babcock will provide helicopter upgrades, introduce enhanced night flying capabilities and roll out technology that will enable the charity to support patients requiring the most critical care.

Chloe Barker, managing director of Babcock's aviation business, says: "We're delighted to be extending our long-standing partnership with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. We've been supporting the charity since its inception, and we're proud of our role in helping it deliver essential helicopter emergency medical services across the region. We look forward to continuing operations and further enhancing the service as we look to the future together."

Hanna Sebright, chief executive officer for MAAC adds: "Babcock has safely and effectively supported and managed our fleet of aircraft, helping us deliver more than 75,000 lifesaving missions across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire. We look forward to continuing our long term partnership with Babcock."
