Why visit ACE ’25?
The Border Police of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken delivery of a new Airbus H145 helicopter of European standard. The delivery was carried out at Airbus Helicopters’ facility in Germany and was attended by the deputy head of the Border Police Giorgi Malania and the director of the Special Purpose Aviation Division of the Border Police Ioseb Arjevanishvili.
The H145 is fully equipped with firefighting and mountain rescue equipment. It is powered by two engines, increasing the safety of the flight, and is manoeuvrable and fully compatible with the mission profile, especially considering the mountainous terrain of Georgia. Similar helicopters are successfully operated by the police and emergency management services of Germany, Switzerland, France, Canada and other countries.
The pilots and flight technicians of the Special Purpose Aviation Division of the Border Police are currently undergoing theoretical and practical training at the Airbus Helicopters training academy in Germany. On completion of training, the helicopter will be transported to Georgia by the Georgian crew.
This is the first of three H145s signed for in December 2022; the next two units are planned to be delivered by June this year.
