FloridaSheltair Aviation's award-winning FBOs at St Petersburg-Clearwater International airport (KPIE) and Tampa International airport (KTPA) in Florida are undergoing renovations to update their look and feel.
At PIE, renovations are focused on the two storey atrium lobby with its central staircase leading to the second floor offices, including a refurnished conference room. On the ground level, the pilot lounge also boasts new furnishings, while space modifications allowed for flight planning room improvements, the addition of a customer service manager's office adjacent to reception and a prominent coffee station to better serve guests.
"Our beautiful FBO terminal at St Petersburg-Clearwater has always been a point of pride," says general manager Deen Walker. "We want it to look its best and work well for our guests. We're confident this renovation has accomplished that."
Extensive upgrades are ongoing at Sheltair's FBO at TPA following the completion of its $26 million hangar complex. Floor plan modifications include expanding the entry lobby to increase guest seating by relocating flight planning services to the pilot's lounge; relocating its smaller conference room to increase seating capacity; and adding a new customer service desk, back-counter check in area and designated mail room.
Sheltair TPA's upgrade also includes fully-renovated rest rooms with all new fixtures and finishes; an expanded, open plan conference room with natural lighting, a conference table and a wet bar with lounge seating; and a built-in TV credenza and motorised leather recliners in the pilot's lounge. Aesthetic modifications include new wall coverings, tile flooring with a natural wood look, new carpet by the lobby airside window and second floor office corridors, updated lobby seating and an advertising banner LED screen above the airside vestibule.
Sheltair's total investment in the Tampa area renovations is an estimated $2.05 million.
"We value all our customers and always want them to feel comfortable about flying into a Sheltair FBO," says CEO and president Lisa Holland. "That's why we're continuously investing in our facilities to better serve our guests as a premier gateway to the markets that Sheltair serves."
Sheltair TPA and PIE offer easy access to primary roads in their respective areas, and both provide on site rental cars, crew cars and US Customs clearance. As Avfuel-branded FBOs, both feature competitive prices with Avfuel Contract Fuel and AVTRIP rewards.
