Yingling prepares for second major expansion of the year
Yingling is now hiring in preparation for the opening next January, for sheet metal repair of flight control surfaces, major structural components, precision cutting on avionics panels and modification services.
The warehouse will be fully operational by January 2024.

Yingling Aviation is undertaking its second major expansion project of 2023, a 14th building for its facility at Wichita Dwight D Eisenhower National airport in Wichita, Kansas. Following a significant renovation, the 17,000sq ft warehouse will be fully operational by January 2024. This will bring Yingling's total facility space to more than 320,000sq ft.

The first project of the year was in January with the addition of the 13th hangar; 22,000sq ft of hangar space and two levels of offices accommodating much-needed additional space for its MRO departments and government programmes department.

Yingling is now actively hiring more than 80 new employees, specifically A&P mechanics, sheet metal technicians, avionics technicians and programme managers. The new facility will be used for sheet metal repair of flight control surfaces, major structural components, precision cutting on avionics panels and modification services.

“We're excited to see Yingling grow and are happy to partner with it on necessary property improvements. It has made great investments at the airport and continues to develop jobs along the way. This is a win-win situation that's good for both the airport and for the community,” says Jesse R Romo, director of airports for the Wichita Airport Authority.

Yingling president Andrew Nichols adds: “The fact that we continue to grow Yingling Aviation at Wichita Dwight D Eisenhower National airport is proof of our close working relationship with the Wichita Airport Authority. It demonstrates our dedication to improving the opportunities in our Wichita community, our focus on customer service and providing superior quality of work, and the remarkable talents and skills of our employees.”

Nichols attributes continued expansion in part to its employees and customers. “Listening to our customers, taking care of our employees and valuing simplicity as it relates to growth have been the keys to Yingling Aviation's success over the many years,” he says. “For our community, customers, vendors and potential employees, we are looking forward to announcing more exciting news in the coming months. The momentum is there, and we are not slowing down. There is more to come.”
