Aeroauto is to establish an eVTOL showroom, dealership and maintenance service centre at the Greenport International Airport and Technology Centre in Texas.
CEO Sean Borman says: "We're ecstatic to team up with Greenport International airport to introduce eVTOL technology to the world. Aeroauto's commitment to creating a sustainable and efficient urban transportation ecosystem aligns perfectly with Greenport's dedication to innovation and eco-friendly practices."
Central Texas Airport Holdings is developing Greenport International Airport & Technology Center on 5,000+ acres in northwest Bastrop County, 17 miles east from central Austin. It will be a private general aviation airport and technology centre dedicated to sustainability and transportation. The site will also be located adjacent to a planned community called Emerald Island that is envisioned to house tens of thousands of people and seamlessly integrate AAM and multimodal transportation into the rhythm of its everyday life.
Phase I of the build will consist of an airport purpose-built on 2,605 acres to accommodate larger business jets. It will have a 10,000 ft runway with a planned 2.9 million sq ft of hangar space, 9 million sq ft of data center and R&D space, and small-office building space. The development will also feature a US Customs Port of Entry.
The Greenport centre MD and CIO Stephen Carpenter adds: "Aeroauto's expertise in eVTOL technology, coupled with our airport's intelligent infrastructure and commitment to eco-conscious operations, will make Greenport a global hub for urban air mobility. Greenport is committed to innovation, and together we will create an atmosphere where the thrill of flight converges with the allure of the latest eVTOL wonders, providing our patrons with an experience like never before."
The eVTOL showroom and dealership will showcase a number of different vehicles and will house a dedicated maintenance hub. Doors are set to open by 2025.
In July this year, Volatus Infrastructure said it would build a vertiport on the airport site. It is to provide one of its base package modular terminal buildings with a single landing pad and vehicle-agnostic charging station, and plans to break ground this year and launch operations in 2024. The vertiport is to serve as the first node in an eventual network of sites that Volatus plans to build in the area.
Based in Florida, Aeroauto was founded in 2021 to develop infrastructure and services to support the widespread adoption of eVTOLs and cargo drones.
