Abu Dhabi-based Terminals Holding, an airport operator and ground handling service provider with over 1.6 billion of assets under management, and Kookiejar of Sweden AB, a vertiport operation and AAM partner, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the building and operation of transformational, sustainable vertiports in emerging markets, creating societal value.
“We are a greentech company enabling sustainable air mobility, and we have already secured pilots in Europe and UAE with ongoing talks in the US. With this agreement we have the potential to expand our network into Abu Dhabi and other emerging markets that need our solutions, with Terminals Holdings as an operator. This is a huge step in expanding our market reach,” says Kookiejar founder and chairman Kim Silander.
“We are eager to study the opportunities that vertiport operation and advanced air mobility offers. With this cooperation we, as an airport operator and ground handler, can expand our services within the communities where we already operate and in line with our sustainability and green energy goals,” adds a spokesman for Terminals Holding.
Both parties signed the MoU on 7 March during the The Future of Air Transportation in Mauritania conference in Nouakchott. The event was attended by Mauritanian government ministers and representatives along with Airport Council International (ACI) Africa, The International Air Transport Association (IATA), and several air traffic and airport stakeholders.
