The Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO), which encompasses the city of Orlando, Florida, has taken delivery of a Bell 407 courtesy of north Texas fixed and rotary-wing MRO provider AeroBrigham. The work for the law enforcement equipment and avionics integration was performed at AeroBrigham's main facilities on Decatur Municipal airport just north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Among the many features of the OCSO aircraft is the installation of a HeliSas autopilot, extensive Garmin avionics to include a helicopter terrain awareness and warning system (HTAWS), VisLink HDX 1100 downlink system, L3 Harris MX10 thermal imaging camera, TrakkaBeam A800 searchlight, Spider Tracks X aircraft tracking and flight data monitoring system, Shotover ARS-700C moving map system and many other complements to improve safety and mission effectiveness. An extended instrument panel was installed to accommodate the sophisticated law enforcement and tactical equipment configuration. AeroBrigham also provided the custom interior appointments as well as a custom exterior paint scheme.
AeroBrigham provides complete maintenance, repair, overhaul, completion and reconfiguration services for both helicopters and airplanes at its main facilities in Decatur, Texas. The company will expand its capabilities in February 2023 when it adds a 45,000 sq ft hangar on Decatur Municipal Airport. The current facility will be dedicated to fixed wing support, while the new facility will be utilised solely for helicopter support and will include modern aircraft paint capabilities.
