Gulfstream Aerospace Corp has appointed Hanoi-based Sun Air as its authorised international sales representative (ISR) for business aircraft sales activities in Vietnam.
Under the agreement, Sun Air will be responsible for promoting and supporting Gulfstream with customers and prospects throughout the country.
“Interest in Gulfstream aircraft continues to grow in Asia, and we are looking forward to continuing to expand our presence and efforts in Vietnam,” says senior vice president of worldwide sales Scott Neal. “Sun Air is not only a valued customer, it will also provide Gulfstream with local expertise and opportunities to expand our presence in this important market.”
Sun Air is a member of the Sun Group corporation, that received an aviation business license from Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport on 2 March this year to commence operations of its luxury airline. Sun Air is the first airline in Vietnam to cater completely to the luxury travel segment, and offers private jet management and air charter operations as well as sightseeing trips using helicopters and seaplanes.
The company will commence operations in 3Q22 with two G650ERs, and intends to have four Gulfstream G650ERs, one Gulfstream G700, one helicopter and two seaplanes by 2025. The airline will connect all of the products within Sun Group’s ecosystem of luxury resorts, entertainment complexes and real estate products, and will be based at Vân Đồn International airport in Qung Ninh Province; an airport constructed privately by Sun Group. In the future, the airline expects to utilise BBJs and ACJs.
“Being the international sales representative for Gulfstream in Vietnam represents a key milestone of Sun Air in the development roadmap of potential luxury general aviation,” says Sun Group Corp chairman Dang Minh Truong. “We believe that with Gulfstream's leading reputation in the global aviation industry and Sun Group's quality ecosystem, we will create unprecedented luxury aviation experiences in Vietnam.”
