Russia-based independent full service technical and ground handling operator UTG Private Aviation is making its plans known for the coming year. UTG currently operates business aviation infrastructure at Domodedovo airport, including a 770 sqm VIP passenger terminal, three 8,000 sqm hangars for business aviation aircraft and an extensive apron of 17,000 sqm, which is due to be expanded in the future.
2022 will begin with February’s refurbishment of the interior of the bar and lounge area at the airport. UTG plans to install a stylish wing-shaped counter along with brand-new designer furniture. The long-awaited launch of a gourmet restaurant is scheduled for March, and the ground floor of the terminal will be expanded with glass panoramic verandas, one of which will include a spacious conference room.
By the end of the year, the company hopes to complete the renovation of the second floor, plus the construction of new facades and landscape improvements to the site.
It is also planning to open its own helipad, to be located on the FBO site just 50m from the terminal, but outside the airfield. A great alternative to car journeys according to the company, solving the matter of transport accessibility and the traffic situation.
From April to the end of December 2021, the FBO handled 10,297 passengers, roughly 1,144 passengers each month with peaks in May and November. UTG is investing a lot of effort and resources into the renovation, staff training and the launch of new services. It says the advantages of the new centre include competitive prices, the well-developed infrastructure of Domodedovo airport and the unique synergy of business and commercial aviation.
