Jet East and Delaware River and Bay Authority have opened a full service maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at the Millville Executive airport in New Jersey.
The two hangars which Jet East are renting have approximately 70,000 sq ft of useable space including maintenance hangar, office, storage and shop. The initial term of the deal is for 10 years, with two additional option periods of five years each, taking Jet East's potential tenancy out to the year 2041.
“We're excited to open a new MRO facility at the Millville Executive Airport,” says Stephen Maiden, president and CEO of Jet East. “The collaboration and support we have received from the DRBA, the airport and the Millville community has been overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to working together with all community stakeholders as we grow our operation and its capabilities.” Maiden noted that the Millville location is strategically located in the northeast sector of the United States with close proximity to several other locations in the Jet East network.
“Jet East is a global leader in aviation maintenance and repair services, and the DRBA is pleased to welcome it to the Millville Executive Airport,” says Delaware River and Bay Authority commission chairman James N. Hogan. “Over the past twenty years, the DRBA has invested more than $50 million to enhance the airport's infrastructure, laying the foundation for manufacturing businesses like Jet East to ramp up and take flight here.”
The Millville MRO facility will conduct heavy scheduled maintenance of corporate and private aircraft, with a focus on being a Citation centre of excellence. When fully operational, the MRO unit will perform maintenance work on up to 15 aircraft and employ approximately 250 employees in a variety of careers including aviation maintenance technicians, avionics technicians, aircraft interior technicians, planners, project managers, purchasing agents, materials and parts personnel, and administration support professionals.
