First Wing begins construction of Indianapolis hangars
The two private hangars based at Indianapolis Executive airport will each have six executive bays. First Wing Jet Center expects the facilities to be complete by autumn.
The hangars will be 65' wide x 60' deep; have 18' tall x 64' wide Schweiss Bifold Electric Doors, be fully insulated with radiant overhead heat, and have the ability to be customised post construction.

First Wing Jet Center, a fixed base operator, has begun construction on two private hangars, each with six executive bays, on the west side of its facility. The expansion at Indianapolis Executive airport in Zionsville, Indiana, is expected to be completed this autumn.

“The growth at Indianapolis Executive Airport is a direct result of being located between the fast-growing Hamilton and Boone Counties just north of Indianapolis,” says Sean White, vice president and general manager of First Wing Jet Center. “We are the busiest non-commercial airport in the state, and we're running out of space. We've been getting inquiries about hangar space for years, and with the two new hangars, we'll be closer to meeting that demand.”

The hangars will be 65' wide x 60' deep, have 18' tall x 64' wide Schweiss Bifold Electric Doors, have gas, water, sewer and electric facilities, be fully insulated with radiant overhead heat, have a bathroom with toilet and sink, and have the ability to be customised post construction.

“The hangars we are building are unique in this part of the state,” says White. “The majority of private hangars currently available in the area are smaller, T-hangars or larger shared hangars.”

First Wing operates an FAA-registered maintenance facility and is a Cirrus authorised service centre. It services other aircraft types including Cessna, Beechcraft, Citation, Piper and TBM. It is a multi-year FAA Diamond Award of Excellence recipient for outstanding maintenance services and continued education and a Garmin Platinum Award recipient.
