Austria-based F/List, a provider of handcrafted interiors for business and private jets, yachts and exclusive homes, has been named as the winner of two product design categories at the 2021 Design et al. International Yacht and Aviation Awards. The awards ceremony, which took place on 20 August at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Italy against the backdrop of St Mark's Square, recognised the innovation, creativity and ingenuity of the design and production team at F/List.

The versatility of the F/List vinyl floor-tiling concept appealed to voters as it delivers durability and simplified access to the fuselage, is scratch and stain resistant and easy to clean and maintain. With a multitude of finishes the flooring also provides designers, completion centres and OEMs with the option to create a myriad of customised designs. The fresh alternative to carpet consists of individually pre-manufactured tiles, finished to customised patterns that fix to the aircraft floor by a newly developed mounting system. Each set of the custom-produced tiles is manufactured by F/List and delivered to the aircraft as a complete set ready for installation. An individually compiled manual detailing the installation sequence and assembly accompanies each set to ensure tiles are laid in the correct sequence.

Adding a new dimension to lighting in the cabin, the F/List illuminated surface system shone out owing to its specially configured LED lighting panel, which can be placed directly beneath the decorative surface of a monument. The LED panel adapts to the shape of each individual piece of furniture, whether it be a straight or curved form, to enable the carefully positioned lighting to distribute homogenous light through a sheer, customised stone veneer. The natural, intricate details of the facing are showcased, bringing extra definition to the edges of, for example, the galley, bar, washroom or countertop. A true innovation for business aviation, the layered lighting effect subtly complements existing cabin illumination schemes and appeals to owners and designers seeking to generate a myriad of exceptional effects.

F/List is focused on providing our customers with products that enhance the aesthetics of the cabin interior and inspire the imagination, yet are also functional, durable and low-maintenance. Winning these awards demonstrates that we are fulfilling our goal to provide valuable solutions that meet designer and customer needs, as we continue striving to create concepts driven by originality and innovation, and that make aircraft interiors stand out,” says CEO Katharina List-Nagl. “We are flattered and proud that our peers voted for the concepts and thank them and Design et al for their support.”

The first two installations of the F/List Syntec flooring system were outfitted in the entryway areas of two production Pilatus PC-24 Super Versatile Jets earlier in 2021, while the first refurbishment using Syntec flooring has been completed on a Bombardier Global. The striking lighting effect is already realised in a Boeing Business Jet where a fully illuminated bar counter made of real tinstone brings an extra dimension, as well as beauty, to the executive airliner's cabin interior. A completed Bombardier Global 7500 has the lighting installed under the galley counter to add a truly stunning design concept to the cabin.
