Flurry of appointments at the top for Skytech
John Foster, former president of Skytech, has stepped into the position of chairman and CEO after leading the daily operations for the last 22 years. Justin Lazzeri, a nearly 20-year Skytech veteran, is now president.
Company president Justin Lazzeri.

Skytech, a privately owned US general aviation sales, service, FBO, management and charter organisation celebrating its 45th year in business in 2021, has announced several executive leadership changes.

John Foster, former president of Skytech, has stepped into the position of chairman and CEO after leading the daily operations for the last 22 years. Under his care, Skytech has increased its sales footprint and offerings, added two FBOs in the Charlotte, North Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan areas, and entered the world of aircraft management and charter. Foster says: “It has been my privilege to serve as Skytech's corporate navigator for the past 22 years. In the same manner that the navigation systems in use when I arrived in 1980 have been decidedly enhanced, so has the size and capability of our management team. I'm enthused to see where they take us next.”

Justin Lazzeri, a nearly 20-year Skytech veteran and former VP of aircraft operations, is assuming the role of president. Lazzeri holds a Commercial Pilot certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings, as well as a Certified Flight Instructor certificate. Starting as a part-time company pilot, he eventually moved into a full-time position as Skytech's director of marketing, a role he continued to fill for over 16 years. He was integral in the successful development of Skytech's aircraft charter and management departments, which included adding the East Coast's first Part 135 Pilatus PC-24.

“I am humbled and excited to be given the opportunity to continue growing Skytech in the same manner as my predecessors,” Lazzeri comments. “Our culture is deeply rooted in phenomenal customer service and a feeling of family, as is evident by the long-tenured, loyal nature of our employee base. That culture is extremely important to us and is set to continue for another 45 years.”

Rick Shepard, also with Skytech for 20 years and formerly the VP of FBO operations, is stepping into the executive VP of operations position, where he will oversee both the FBO and flight departments, which include charter and aircraft management. Shepard holds a Commercial Pilot certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings and has recently completed a PC-24 SIC checkout.

Rounding out Skytech's executive team is David Conover, senior executive VP and sales manager; Preston Estes, vice president, service; and Ann Park, VP of administration. Combined, Skytech's executive team brings over 173 years of general aviation experience to the table.
