F1 clash necessitates Avalon one week deferral
The decision to defer Avalon 2021 was taken in consultation with major stakeholder the Royal Australian Air Force, reflecting the RAAF’s commitment to what will be the major airshow event of the RAAF centenary year.

The recent rescheduling of the 2021 Melbourne Australian Formula One Grand Prix to the week before Avalon 2021 meant that two of the Australian state of Victoria’s largest and most complex events would be held in consecutive weeks.

Avalon 2021 organiser AMDA Foundation has since completed a review of the implications of any potential logistic conflict to determine whether Avalon 2021 should proceed on its scheduled dates of 23 to 28 November or be deferred by one week to new dates of 30 November to 5 December. It has now determined that Avalon 2021 will be deferred.

As the most comprehensive aviation, aerospace and defence exposition in the Southern Hemisphere, the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition (Avalon) will be a key platform for the development of the Australian industry and for the promotion of civil and defence aviation to Australian and international visitors.

AMDA Foundation Limited is an Australian not-for-profit corporation, established to promote the development of aviation and Australia’s industrial, manufacturing and information/communications technology resources in the fields of aviation, aerospace, maritime, defence and security.

The AMDA Foundation team is committed to producing an Avalon 2021 that maximises the event’s contribution to the nation and is positioned to be the world’s premier airshow in 2021.
