VirginiaDuncan Aviation is opening its newest satellite repair station in the Washington, DC, area at Chantilly Air's newly completed Jet Center. The two companies have been meeting the needs of business aviation customers for decades, and this latest endeavour will offer complementary services to maintenance and avionics customers in and around Manassas Regional airport in northern Virginia.
Located roughly 30 miles from downtown Washington, DC, Chantilly Air's new FBO includes 60,000 sq ft of hangar space along with an FBO that includes conference rooms, a pilot lounge with private snooze rooms, a crew fitness centre and private shower facilities, a VIP waiting and screening area, rentable office space and Go Rentals onsite.
Manager of Duncan Aviation's satellite operations Matt Nelson says staffing for the newsSatellite is well under way, and the company is planning to start serving customers in the Mid-Atlantic region in April of this year. “Duncan Aviation is excited to have a presence in this region and honoured to be housed in this gorgeous new facility,” he says. “Additionally, our relationship with Chantilly Air allows both of us to build on our brands to create a strong, local presence.”
One year ago, Duncan Aviation celebrated the 35th year of serving customers through its network of 28 satellite repair station and workaways. Originally developed to offer avionics support for aircraft owners/operators in times of critical and remote location needs, the teams located at high-volume business aviation hubs around the country provide popular avionics installations such as ACA Air Purification Systems, air-to-ground or satellite-based Wi-Fi, cabin systems, flight management systems, cockpit modernisations (displays, FANS 1/A, ADS-B) and WAAS/LPV.
The original concept of placing Duncan Aviation's avionics technicians closer to customers hasn't changed, and neither has the desire to place Duncan Aviation's satellites in facilities owned and operated by reliable and esteemed aviation companies like Chantilly Air, which has been providing maintenance, fuelling and charter management services for nearly 30 years.
The satellite shops are supported by the full-service Duncan Aviation avionics and instrument shop at its headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska. The satellites, including this newest station in the Chantilly Air hangar, will inspect, install, troubleshoot, service and repair virtually every type of equipment business aircraft have aboard.
