US FBO chain Atlantic Aviation has broken ground on construction of a new 25,000 sq ft hangar at its facility at Chicago Executive airport.

The new hangar will be capable of housing aircraft types up to G650/700 and Global 7500 in size and increases Atlantic Aviation's hangar space at PWK to 86,500 sq ft. The facility will include 3,000 sq ft of office and shop space.

In support of the new hangar, Atlantic will also develop two acres of additional ramp apron and a 72,000 gallon fuel farm. The approximately $10.9 million project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.

“This project will help Atlantic meet the growing demand for hangar space and aircraft parking in the Chicago market and to continue to provide best in class service to the general aviation community there,” says Jay Hamby, senior VP of regional operations.
