AERO is the latest to push show back to summer
All exhibitors who have already registered for the original AERO Friedrichshafen in April will receive detailed information in the next few days. The event is now due to take place from 14-17 July 2021.
It is hoped that the bustling static display will be making a comeback sooner rather than later.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, international aviation show AERO 2021 will not take place at the Friedrichshafen exhibition centre In Germany on 21 April as planned. “After the cancellation of the event last year, the uncertainties resulting from the pandemic with the renewed lockdown extension have unfortunately caused AERO Friedrichshafen to be postponed. In order to create clear conditions for all customers and partners, we decided at this relatively early stage to to carry out the upcoming AERO Friedrichshafen as a summer edition from 14-17 July 2021,” says trade fair managing director Klaus Wellmann.

AERO division manager Roland Bosch and project manager Tobias Bretzel explain: “A few weeks ago we started the new year with confidence and hope. The first few days we flew by sight; now there is again thick fog on the runway, symbolically speaking. We can already estimate today that we will not be able to hold the AERO 2021 as an international trade fair on the planned April date. The overall high number of registrations and the very positive votes for AERO have encouraged us to plan a summer edition in July. Although this will be another challenge for all of us, we are very convinced that we are doing the right thing. We see the new concept as a great opportunity for the all-important meeting of the entire GA family in summer temperatures.”

The decision has been well-received by many in the industry, including Trevor Pegrum, Garmin aviation sales and marketing manager for Europe: “We welcome the decision of the AERO organisers to post careful consideration about the date of this important event of global health issues while understanding the value that AERO has for the European aviation industry. We look forward to attending AERO this year and in the years to come to showcase the latest Garmin products.”

All exhibitors who have already registered for the original AERO Friedrichshafen in April will receive detailed information in the next few days. In order to optimise the organisational processes, other interested parties are asked to discuss their participation in the AERO summer edition with the project team in January if possible.
