Global Helicopter Service (GHS), a German provider of commercial helicopter services for humanitarian aid organisations, governmental projects and the oil and gas and mining industries, has announced a new INFECT air ambulance service with its new partner Flymed GmbH.

The service will combine experienced personnel and crews comprising two pilots, a medical specialist and paramedic in a standard crew, four intensive care ambulances and one Bell 412 intensive care helicopter fitted with an Air Ambulance Technology ambulance kit, which includes Hamilton T1 ventilation and intensive monitoring, syringe pumps, a transport-incubator, systemic medication, and the Ego Zlin BioBag isolation unit. While GHS will provide the Bell 412 and pilots, Flymed will cover medical provision including paramedics, flight physicians and ground transportation.

With an estimated preliminary lead time to activate the service of less than 60 minutes, missions to Austria or Italy as well as throughout Germany will be possible. The Ego Zlin BioBag isolation unit will also enable the safe transfer of COVID-19 patients.
