Alsim advocate Waterloo brings in AL250
Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre's 30 aircraft fleet, one of the largest in Canada, includes a Piper PA44. Last year the company logged 1,500 hours on its Alsim ALX, and it hopes for similar success with the AL250.

After many years of owning an Alsim ALX simulator, Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) in Ontario, Canada is adding an Alsim AL250 to its fleet.

Operating out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, WWFC currently has a record number of students. Its 30 aircraft-strong fleet is one of the largest in Canada including Cessna 172s, a Diamond DA40, Piper PA28R and a Piper PA44. Last year it logged 1,500 hours on its Alsim ALX. Its new Alsim AL250 will be reconfigurable between several classes of piston aircraft and will be delivered with Alsim's new VFR visual system and other latest technologies.

“The Alsim ALX has been our workhorse since we purchased the device in 2014,” says general manager Bob Connors. “However, due to the large number of students, it became clear that we needed to offload some of PPL and Instrument training from the ALX onto another simulator. The AL250 was the logical choice, and will allow the ALX to focus on the integrated flight training programmes and MCC training. We have worked closely with Alsim and look forward to working even closer during the years to come.”

Their AL250 is scheduled to be delivered in May, prior to WWFC's next college programme starting in September.
