Taiga expands utility ops to Sudbury
Winnipeg's Taiga Air Services opened its second base in November 2019, having already served Canada and the US for a quarter of a century. Missions include utility, powerline inspections, wildlife work and SAR.

Taiga Air Services, a Winnipeg-based helicopter company, has opened a second base of operations in Sudbury, Ontario.

Taiga provides utility services such as equipment and personnel transportation including external load, pipeline and powerline inspections, wildlife surveys and SAR. It also uses its inventory of thermal imaging sensors to provide accurate and timely hotspot detection and reporting in support of wildfire suppression efforts.

The Winnipeg hangar has supported operations in Canada and the United States for over 25 years. Opening a second base in Sudbury will allow for more timely deployment of services to eastern Canada and the east coast.
