CIS companies to join RUBAA
After long and careful planning, the Russian United Business Aviation Association is ready to bring CIS business aviation enterprises into the fold. Economic opportunities are just one of the advantages of collaboration.
RUBAA president and chairman of the board Yaroslav Odintsev.

RUBAA plans to expand its geography. Currently it represents mainly Russian business aviation industry, however following a decision taken by the board at its regular meeting in May 2019, it will extend to enterprises from all countries in CIS. This is scheduled for approval by the RUBAA general assembly in September 2019.

“This is an important step in the development of the association,” says president and chairman of the board Yaroslav Odintsev. “It has been discussed for a long period of time and is well thought out and planned. Colleagues from CIS countries have shown solid interest as our markets have strong links and business aviation there is rapidly developing. A joint organisation representing our mutual interests is not just a brave idea but a necessity.

He goes on to say: “Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are members of the customs union of the Eurasian Economic Union. Joint efforts will definitely serve the development of the industry in this territory, first of all in benefiting from economic opportunities that the customs union provides.”

“We see this as a new stage for the association,” adds executive director Anna Serezhkina. “We have been preparing for this for a long period of time and I hope we accomplish all the formalities before the end of this year. Now we have active communication with a number of commercial companies from CIS and I hope to see them among our members soon. And, of course, a new event agenda is being prepared to promote business aviation as a necessary and effective instrument for the economy. I believe this will be a successful project, useful for all organisations involved.”
