VirginiaWashington DC-based Chantilly Air has marked the groundbreaking of its new fixed base operation at the Manassas Regional airport in Virginia. The City of Manassas mayor, assistant airport director and members of the airport commission along with members of the City of Manassas economic development team joined COO Tim Sullivan and Chantilly Air employees to celebrate.
Slated to open in the first quarter of 2020, the new FBO will feature over 90,000 sq ft of hangar and office space at the busy Commonwealth of Virginia general aviation airport. Amenities will include passenger lounge areas, a crew fitness centre, executive conference rooms and a crew planning area.
Additional tenant offices will be available for lease on the second and third floors of the facility.
The company will pair its established offerings, including an FAA Diamond Part 145 repair station, to create the airport's only FBO offering charter, maintenance, management, ground support and hangar facilities. “The Chantilly Air team looks forward to growing general aviation activity at the Manassas Regional airport by providing comprehensive aviation services. Our goal is to create a memorable experience for passengers and crew. Superior customer service is at the core of who we are, and our expanded facilities will allow us to provide this to anyone flying into the airport,” says Sullivan. “We are grateful for the support of the City of Manassas and the Manassas Regional Airport Commission as we create an airport that becomes the hub of economic development for the area.”
Chairman of the Manassas Regional Airport Commission Dan Radtke expressed the importance of strategic growth of the airport and the Chantilly Air complex to support growing business activity in the city. The City of Manassas announced the largest capital investment in modern Virginia history with the $3 billion capital investment by Micron less than two miles from the airport. Novant Health UVA Health System, Aurora Flight Sciences and CloudHQ have also announced significant investments in the last year.
“We're excited to expand our role to help support the thriving business communities of northern Virginia and Washington DC. Business aviation is a catalyst for success for many companies and we look forward to welcoming them to the area,” adds marketing and client relations manager Caleb Stitely.
