Kampala (Entebbe Intl) Airport
BAN's World Gazetteer
UgandaUgandan operator Kampala Executive Aviation (KEA) has completed a two-day operation which involved flying 204 international tourists across multiple tourism locations in Uganda on multiple fixed-wing aircraft. The group of tourists landed at Entebbe International airport and departed for their destinations aboard KEA's fleet the following day from Entebbe airport and Kajjansi airfield near Kampala, where the operator's fixed base operations are located.
“This is the first-of-its-kind mass movement of air passengers to be completed domestically in Uganda and we are honoured to be of service, and very proud of our crews who worked tirelessly for weeks to make this effort a success,” says marketing director Isabella Tustanovska. “The operation took several weeks of preparation, operational readiness to ensure safety and efficiency and a high standard of professionalism to safely and efficiently fly the passengers.” Among the aircraft that ferried the passengers were a Pilatus PC12, Beechcraft 1900Ds and Grand Caravans.
“Our crews worked within very tight timeframes to ferry the passengers across the multiple local destinations,” she adds. “With the many limitations and austere conditions on Ugandan runways, accomplishing an operation of this scale successfully truly requires operational excellence and industry expertise. We look forward to more opportunities on this scale.”
