Castle & Cooke appoints Everett general manager
The man who helped draw up the Standard for Jet Fuel Quality Control at Airports has joined C&C's management team in Washington. His background is a broad mix from chemistry to aviation biofuels.

US FBO operator Castle & Cooke Aviation has welcomed Dean Williams as general manager at its Everett, Washington location. He will be responsible for directing all FBO activities, serving a diverse clientele that includes the company's core corporate and general aviation customers along with the soon-to-be-initiated scheduled airline service at Snohomish County airport.

Williams joins the team with more than 20 years of experience in airline and airport management and operations. He formerly served as director of fuel administration and as corporate manager of fuel operations and infrastructure with a major airline, where he oversaw more than 100 domestic and international airports. In addition, he was chairman of airline fuel consortiums at Seattle-Tacoma International and Portland International airports, and an executive board member at airports in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Anchorage, Alaska with leadership responsibilities for fueling operations, finances and airport contract agreements. He also served as general manager at Seattle-Tacoma International airport for 10 years.

Furthermore, Williams has significant fuel quality and biofuel project expertise as the Energy Council Operations Group's co-lead for Airlines for America (A4A) and as the vice-chairman of the Fuel Technical Committee, both position led airline industry initiatives. He also provided technical resources and manuals such as ATA 103.

With a background in chemistry, having studied at the University of Arizona, Williams has extensive expertise in aviation biofuel projects, playing a role in the first flights using aviation biofuels in 2011 and biofuel feasibility studies that brought sustainable aviation fuels to the west coast in 2017. Further applying his chemistry expertise, he has served as a long-time member of ASTM, the fuel quality organisation.

“With a rather extensive resume, Dean is a highly-respected professional in the aviation industry and is an exceptional addition to the Castle & Cooke Aviation management team,” says president of aviation operations and business development Tony Marlow. “We are fortunate to be able to capitalise on Dean's experiences to better serve our customers, operations and staff members, and look forward to his fresh perspectives as a new member to our dynamic management team.”
