President and CEO of Dassault Falcon Jet John Rosanvallon has received the ‘Lifetime Aviation Industry Leader’ award during the 16th Annual Living Legends of Aviation award ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The award honours remarkable people of extraordinary accomplishment in aviation and was hosted by actor John Travolta. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was also honoured at the event.
After graduating from the Hautes Études Commerciales, Rosanvallon joined Dassault Aviation in October 1975 and was initially assigned to coordinate Falcon activities between the company's Paris headquarters and the Falcon subsidiary in Teterboro. At the time, the business unit known as Falcon Jet Corporation was a joint venture between Pan American World Airways and Dassault Aviation.
His first assignment in the US took place from 1979 to 1984. After that, Rosanvallon served in several executive capacities within Dassault Aviation from 1985 to 1994. He returned to the US in 1995 and was named president of Dassault Falcon Jet in 1996 and CEO in 2003.
Rosanvallon is on the board of directors of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, where he served as chairman in 2011, as well as the Corporate Angel Network and the French-American Chamber of Commerce. He is also on the advisory council of the NBAA, the board of trustees of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the Wings Club of New York as well a member of the Davos World Economic Forum and the Wall Street Journal CEO council.
