CaymanUS FBO chain Ross Aviation has acquired Island Air's FBOs located at Owens Roberts International airport on Grand Cayman and Charles Kirkconnell International airport on Cayman Brac, both in the Cayman Islands.
Headquartered next to the general aviation customs and immigrations arrivals building at Owens Roberts International airport, Island Air has been serving the Cayman Islands aviation community since 1987.
“The Cayman Islands are well known for their superior resorts, the famous Seven-Mile beach, superb restaurants and international banking institutions," comments Ross Aviation CEO Jeff Ross. "We are pleased to partner with an FBO with excellent customer service in a vibrant and growing leisure destination."
Island Air will continue to operate under its existing name, and Marcus Cumber, who continues as MD and partner, will oversee daily operations. “We are excited to become part of the Ross Aviation network, and our customers can expect the same excellent, consistent customer service in the future as they have enjoyed in years past,” he says.
Although Ross Aviation’s executive team brings over 100 years of experience, the company operates a decentralised mangement system where local managers are granted authority and responsibility to operate and optimise their business based upon the market conditions of each specific location. This approach, which Jeff Ross has employed with a total of 37 FBOs during the span of his career, is designed to ensure a smooth transition upon acquisition.
Ross Aviation now owns and operates 11 FBOs located at nine airports: Ted Stevens Anchorage International, Fairbanks International, Fresno Yosemite International, Westchester County, Long Beach Daugherty Field, Scottsdale Municipal, Jacqueline Cochran Municipal, Owen Roberts International and Charles Kirkconnell International.
