Paterson takes the reigns at Waves
Combining air traffic control know-how with civil aviation, education, sport and culture experience, Gus Paterson is the man to put Guernsey, and the company, on the map, according to the board at Waves.

Guernsey-based operator Waves has appointed Gus Paterson as CEO.

Paterson has more than 18 years of experience in the aviation industry, most recently as director of civil aviation for the Channel Islands where he was responsible for safety and security regulation, airports, airlines and air traffic control.

Prior to that he worked in a variety of roles for UK air traffic service provider NATS at hubs including Manchester, Edinburgh and Bristol. He is a qualified air traffic controller and a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

In his most recent role he headed up the Office of the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture in Guernsey.

"I'm really excited to be joining Waves, which has already made a major impact in the Channel Islands aviation market," he says. "My vision is to make Waves the operator of choice for travellers here, offering a reliable, flexible and safe service that the islands can be proud of."
