Canada's Avionco has enjoyed an encouraging first six months with its 2-REG Guernsey AOC. The company has added a Challenger 850 to the certificate and VP Josh Dodd says that the aircraft has been suitably busy. "We are hoping to have a second aircraft by the end of June," he states. "We are seeing a lot of European opportunity right now and the growth within the market is helping us capture a small chunk of it."

Avionco has been working with broker Skyline Aviation to generate hours and is looking to add privately managed jets. "We have a mix of available opportunities so if owners need or want to charter their aircraft we can do that for them. It has been great to work with the 2-REG team, they have been very flexible and make timely responses.

"We are considering a full EASA AOC as this might help us move into different markets and provides more availability to customers. We have also looked at partnering with different companies in Europe and Asia. We are willing to work with everybody."

The company currently employs eight full-time staff as well as 14 contractors. "We're fresh, we're young, we've carried out due diligence and spent time, money and effort to get this going. We just want to tell every-one who we are," Dodd concludes.
