Why visit ACE ’25?
Bombardier unveiled the 5,700 nm Global 5500 and 6,600 nm Global 6500 during this year's EBACE show and renamed the Global 7000 as the Global 7500. Benefitting from a redesigned wing and cabin, the 5500 and 6500 feature Rolls-Royce Pearl powerplants, designed to be cleaner, more efficient and improve upon the range of their predecessors by up to 1,300 nm.
The Global 7500 is on track to enter service during the second half of 2018. The type's range was recently extended to 7,700 nm, and maximum cruising speed to Mach 0.925, while its wing design enables a take-off distance of 5,800 feet at full fuel in standard operating conditions. It will also be able to land at steep approach hubs including London City, as will the 5500 and 6500.
“The rigour and innovation behind our Global 7500 aircraft design and test programme have allowed us to deliver enhanced performance,” says Stephen McCullough, VP of integrated product.
The 7500 includes a full size kitchen and four living spaces. It also debuts Bombardier's clean sheet Nuage seat, a comfortable and versatile recliner. Also featuring the Nuage, the 5500 and 6500 are expected to enter service at the end of 2019.
