RUAG Aviation has completed phase four and phase six heavy maintenance checks on a Dornier 328 in a turnaround time of four weeks at its Bern-Belp, Switzerland location. The MRO contract was awarded to RUAG by ExecuJet South Africa on behalf of its customer, the Botswana Defence Force.
“Our customers rely on the flexibility we show in response to their individual requests, our extensive know-how, our transparent project communication and our commitment to helping them achieve their priorities,” states general manager of the Bern site Simon Hafele. “The industry standard for this MRO event is six weeks. We were able to leverage our expertise and engineering support services to fulfil the inspection on time and with absolute precision.”
The downtime was also used to include a landing gear refurbishment at RUAG's dedicated landing gear workshop in Interlaken, close to its Bern location. “We are firmly committed to aircraft availability. Timely delivery is how we demonstrate that commitment,” confirms senior VP Heinz Scholl.
Services on offer from RUAG include MRO, cabin interiors, aircraft painting, system upgrades, component services, AOG, pre-purchase inspection, aircraft remarketing, support and consulting.
