North CarolinaJetex has provided services to Julian and Kim MacQueen, founders of Innisfree Hotels, as the pair endeavour to be the first to circumnavigate the globe in a HondaJet. The aircraft arrived at the Jetex FBO terminal in Dubai in early September and remained there for three days.
The 'Around the World in 80 Stays' trip is set to pass through more than 30 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, India, Japan, Russia and Thailand. The HondaJet's journey commenced on 7 August at the Honda factory in Greensboro, North Carolina, with the final destination being the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada in October.
Jetex provided full ground support for the aircraft on the Ireland, Morocco and UAE legs of its trip. The Jetex FBO in Dubai also hosted an event showcasing the aircraft to aviation enthusiasts and potential buyers, which included an exclusive demonstration flight where four guests were able to experience the aircraft's capabilities first-hand.
“We are grateful to Jetex for the warm welcome we have received at its Shannon, Casablanca and Dubai FBOs,” says Julian MacQueen. “The service delivered was second to none, and we were extremely impressed by the facilities.” A life-long aviation enthusiast, he is both the owner and pilot of the aircraft.
Several speed records have already been broken during the journey, including the fastest recorded time for a trip from Jordan to Dubai, clocking three hours 32 minutes.
“Jetex is delighted to support this record-breaking voyage around the globe,” states CEO and president Adel Mardini. “The HondaJet offers best-in-class performance, and is a triumph of engineering. Our flagship Dubai FBO terminal is the ideal venue to showcase it.”
