Czech operator ABS Jets recently partnered with AeroClub Plasy airport and the Kamarad Tremosna Youth Centre to provide a week-long camp for children to experience the lives of World War II military pilots.

Sixty children received a taste of the daily routine of war pilots from the Czechoslovak squadrons 310, 311, 312 and 313, which participated in air combat during WWII.

A Spitfire, a Stinson V77 Reliant and a Harvard Mk.II also landed at the airport to entertain the guests. Current military equipment was displayed by paratroopers from the 4th ATEC brigade, who arrived at the airport with an armoured vehicle. The paratroopers also demonstrated Musado military combat techniques.

"The aim of the camp was to familiarise children with the life of pilots, real Czechoslovak war heroes, and also to attract them to aviation and to spur their interest in the world of airplanes," says marketing coordinator Martin Meloun. "We were very glad to support it."
