HondaJet debutant Privateways experiences encouraging demand

Germany's Privateways, which launched in April as the first European operator of the HondaJet, expects to take delivery of a second aircraft in the next four weeks. “Our company philosophy is to operate modern, special aircraft,” say owners Tim Haferl and Benjamin Goetze.

“The space inside the cabin of the HondaJet is brilliant. We have been flying every day, and have been generating repeat business because the cabin is so lovely.”

The performance and DOCs of the aircraft are also deemed favourable. “The fuel economy of the GE Honda engines is perfect,” Haferl continues. “When we cruise at FL 430, we burn 550 lbs at a true air speed of 420 kts.”

With the HondaJet flying nearly 60 hours in the first month of operations, he says that he could quite easily sell hours on the aircraft twice over. By the end of August another captain, Stefanie Schrettl, will come on board and a batch of pilots are currently under supervision.

“Next year we are planning to fly with at least four HondaJets,” he adds. “We have a Quest Kodiak arriving for island hopping, and we have ordered three of these in total.”
