Air bp and RocketRoute have launched RocketRoute Marketplace, an enhanced app that takes the companies' service offering beyond fuel and flight planning. The app will enable pilots to connect directly with thousands of ground handlers, FBOs and aviation providers worldwide. Customers can source and view any service provider at a particular airport.
“We've been working with RocketRoute since 2014 and recog-nised that there was a certain number of our customers that needed a different offering to just fuel,” says Air bp marketing manager Laura Bowden. “We identified RocketRoute as having a really good understanding of the business aviation market and technology solutions. Our customers have been looking for ways to deal with us directly, so we wanted to bring Air bp into the technology age and fill that gap.
“This is how RocketRoute Marketplace came about. It started with the RocketFuel fuel app six months ago and has now evolved into the Marketplace. RocketRoute traditionally might be known for flight planning because that is the area it has excelled in, but this partnership is all about connecting pilots and operators with the suppliers at the airports that they want to do business with, and facilitating that through technology. It is a free-to-use app, and there are no additional costs to the end user. It helps the operators and pilots to get connected, and allows them to see what options they have when they come to a particular airport.”
RocketRoute co-founder Kurt Lyall says: “In your private life you are used to having a whole variety of services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, at your fingertips and instantly available. With aviation it is still quite disparate, so we have brought everything together. It is a combination of simplicity and convenience, and we give people cash back for using the service too. You don't have to be an Air bp or RocketRoute customer to use it; it is free for everyone.”
