Greek rotary operator Superior is introducing an EC130B4 helicopter to its fleet. The rotorcraft will be based out of Mykonos this summer.
“There has been an increased demand for bigger helicopters in the Greek islands over the past couple of years,” states co-founder Konstantinos Sofianos. “At Superior Air we started by placing an EC120B helicopter at Mykonos, then another one and finally this year we decided it was about time to go for something larger and faster.
“The EC130B4 can carry more people at once, including families of at least four, meaning we can offer them a better price since we eliminate the need to use two aircraft. It seems to be a great choice, as it is simple to use, has a wide, air conditioned cabin and offers excellent airborne views.
“It was initially designed by oper-ators that wanted to provide sight-seeing flights, but its also quite fast at 120 knots and has a lot of power.”
