Slovenian Elit'Avia has increased the size of its managed fleet by adding a second privately-owned Falcon 50EX which will also be available for charter. In addition to the large jets it is responsible for, the operator now has five midsize aircraft on its books, the others being two Challenger 300s and a Hawker 800. The nine-passenger Falcon has a ceiling of 41,000 ft and a range of 3,260 nm.
CEO Puja Mahajan says: “The Falcon 50 has very good range for its category, and a high ceiling too. For us it is a user-friendly aircraft that is equipped to serve hot and cold meals. We know that this aircraft works well for charter activity. It meets our requirements and the Falcon is a popular aircraft by virtue of the peace of mind that the third engine offers, which is especially important for newcomers to business aviation.”
The company is also processing an AOC in San Marino. “San Marino is physically within Europe but not part of EASA; it works with ICAO legislations and accepts aircraft of any certification type on this basis, for commercial operations,” Mahajan adds. “This becomes quite a valuable tool and asset in making a transaction if an aircraft is coming from Africa or the Middle East.”
