Luxaviation Belgium, part of the Luxaviation Group, has unveiled a 4,000 sqm hangar facility at Kortrijk-Wevelgem International airport in Belgium. The hangar was opened by Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu and is part of a €4m investment by the Luxaviation Group. It will be able to accommodate up to 15 business jets as well as housing the Belgian MRO facility of sister company ExecuJet.

Luxaviation Belgium CEO Hervé Laitat says: “We saw a significant demand for business aviation in this region and have invested in this facility accordingly. We are now able to comfortably house larger aircraft such as the Falcon 2000 and the Gulfstream V in one location, increasing efficiency and service quality. Our team is very proud to be part of this development and we look forward to welcoming existing and new customers.”

Adds sales director Dominiek Deman: “The hangar enables us to offer our customers a very high standard of service within a modern, heated building. Larger aircraft can enter effortlessly and we have a more efficient, optimised work space for the maintenance department.”

The hangar is 100 metres long, 40 metres wide and 12 metres high. The floor is covered with waterproof epoxy, allowing small leaks from engines or hydraulics to be easily detected.
