TAG Aviation Europe has appointed Carlos Gomez as MD of TAG Aviation Spain, effective from January 2016. Gomez, who has held the position of CEO for TAG in Asia for the past four years, succeeds Rafael Villaneuva. “I am delighted to be returning to Spain to take up this important position as MD, especially at a time when Europe and Spain are seeing the first signs of economic recovery,” says Gomez. “I look forward to once again working closely with my colleagues in Spain and Europe and making the best use of my experience in this region. I will also play an active role in assisting the TAG Aviation senior management team.”
CEO of TAG Europe Christof Späth adds: “During Carlos's period leading the Hong Kong team, TAG Asia grew to become the largest aircraft management company in the region, reaching 50 aircraft in its fleet last year. He demonstrated the same leadership that we saw in Spain and, importantly, has solidified the TAG Aviation brand worldwide. We are fortunate to welcome his return to Spain, especially at such an important time in our company's evolution.”
TAG Aviation has also teamed up with Swedish operator Bromma Business Jet to become the exclusive sales agent for Bromma's two Falcon 7X. As a result TAG can now offer six Falcon 7X for charter in Europe.
“We are very pleased with the collaboration between ourselves and TAG Aviation,” says Bromma CEO Brian Liddle. “As both a client and operator, Bromma Business Jet shares the same high standards, goals and ambitions. With the benefit of TAG Aviation's professional and friendly client support teams we can be additionally reassured of offering our clients the highest service and operational standards, which also includes TAG's charter division.”
In other news, TAG Aviation Geneva has earned the IS-BAO Stage 2 accreditation. Less than a fifth of operators worldwide have achieved this status. Says safety and compliance monitoring man-ager Erwan Clolery: “Successfully completing the prestigious IS-BAO audit puts us in an elite category of aviation operators throughout the world dedicated to safety and operational excellence. It is testament to our mature level of expertise and demonstrates to our customers our ongoing investment to achieve the highest possible standards.”
According to IS-BAO policy, the objective of a Stage 2 evaluation is to confirm that SMS is functioning, that results are being measured, that safety management activities are appropriately targeted and that safety risks are being appropriately managed by the operator.
