Nuremberg-based operator Aero-Dienst is flying a Learjet 60 XR air ambulance in conjunction with German automobile club and roadside assistance company ADAC. The aircraft has ADAC's distinctive yellow livery and has been in service since June, aiding motorists who become ill at the wheel or are involved in motoring accidents.

The LR60 XR weighs 10.7 tonnes with a full tank, has a range of 1,835 nm and can transport two patients. Due to the increasing number of elderly and critically ill patients, the jet is kitted out with ultrasound, blood testing equipment and ventilators. Accompanying medical staff include experienced intensive care doctors and paramedics.

Aero-Dienst has been carrying out air ambulance missions for ADAC for the past 40 years. It has access to four medevac aircraft and also runs a flight ops department in Nuremberg with its own maintenance facility. Other available aircraft include two Do-328s and a King Air 350. In 2014 the operator conducted around 13,500 medical repatriations.
