Stockholm-based European Flight Service (EFS) is focusing its energies on the Scandinavian and UK markets to drive its business development in the next few years.
The operator's current fleet comprises a Legacy 600, Gulfstream 550, Citation Sovereign, XLS and XLS+, and UK manager Steve Whitehead believes he is able to offer a personal service that larger companies struggle to match: “We call it a boutique service, and although that expression can be over-used, it really does explain how we approach business aviation.”
As part of its expansion, EFS has recently appointed Geoff Bailey as sales and marketing manager, based in the Farnborough office. Bailey joins the company from Embraer Executive Jets and brings with him more than 35 years of industry experience. “I am thrilled to be joining the EFS team and to be part of its business development in the coming years,” he says.
The Legacy 600 is based in Farnborough, making the location an obvious choice for company progression.
Business manager Jenny Hjelström recently visited Farn-borough and told EBAN that she was pleased to be welcoming Bailey to the European Flight Service management team and was looking forward to working closely with him on the company's future business expansion plans. Hjelström adds: “Our fleet is partially managed and we are concentrating on increasing the management side and are happy to have a varied fleet.
“We also have an authorised Cessna Citation service facility based in Gothenburg, that can offer line maintenance on other aircraft.”
Whitehead adds that, in his view, there is an 'optimum' fleet size that should not be exceeded: “Individual fleets are stronger, and the operation can be tailored to client needs,” he concludes.
