MCA reaps the benefits of Bournemouth relocation
UK MRO specialist MCA Aviation, formerly located at Shoreham, has relocated to Bournemouth.

UK MRO specialist MCA Aviation, formerly located at Shoreham, has relocated to Bournemouth. Md Malcolm Craft explains the decision: “We felt that we had outstayed our welcome at Shoreham, and that there were better opportunities for the business here at Bournemouth, which we see as a logical step. We've been ten years in business now and it was time to take it forward to an international airport.

“We were a little bit limited for choice on the south coast, because our business is very much European, but we are now situated in an ideal location for Europe. Going inland would not necessarily work for MCA.”

The company now benefits from a Cat2 approach at Bournemouth after being previously restricted by Shoreham's runway size. The company services a number of TBMs and King Airs in the UK and Europe, and Craft believes that he can now increase his capacity.

He concludes: “Our avionics department has had its own staff in Bournemouth for some time, because we have actually been supporting King Airs out of Bournemouth for nearly three years. We have always had a line facility and presence here, but now we have moved our base maintenance to Bournemouth. We will undoubtedly be able to do more than we could before.”
