Capital Trading Aviation has introduced a second five-seater Golden Eagle to its fleet, to supplement an existing line-up of three aircraft and meet a growing demand for charter in the UK. Lisa Humphries of CTA said: "Spending £250,000 on a new aircraft is a major step for us, but the business is certainly there." CTA operates the aircraft, along with two eight-seater Chieftains and an existing Golden Eagle, from the British Aerospace runway at Filton. Passengers are usually collected from airports all around the UK, including Cardiff, says CTA. The company flies staff for major corporations including Orange and also carries out air ambulance work.\r"Our business is growing fast and we provide a swift service to a wide range of customers from private individuals to large companies, who find that chartering an executive aircraft can save them time and money," Humphries said. The new aircraft is fitted out with leather seating, television, video, CD player and fully equipped drinks cabinet. Humphries said: "Our customers like to travel in comfort and arrive refreshed and ready for their meetings, which is why we chose to buy another Golden Eagle as they are fitted out to a very high standard. As part of the service, we also provide passengers with a meal on-board, made to their own requirements."\rCTA says it can fly up to eight passengers to Jersey and back for around £1,200, Paris and Amsterdam for around £1,800, and also has a growing freight business for light items, which are urgently required.\rHumphries added: "Hiring an aircraft to take a group of managers to a meeting is a very cost effective use of time and money - especially as here at Filton there is a minimum of fuss and passengers can drive right up to the aircraft and be on-board within five minutes of arriving at the airfield.\r"Our freight business is usually for urgently required items, the lack of which can halt a production line. Compared with the cost of a production line being put out of action, chartering an aircraft is very reasonable," she added. A subsidiary of Capital Coated Steel Ltd of Cardiff, CTA was established in the early 1990s. Gary Hunt, managing director of Capital Coated Steel, said: "The company owned a Golden Eagle executive aircraft for our own use, but it made sense to maximise its usage, and so CTA was born.\r"Since then, we have experienced strong growth in that sector, and although we now have four aircraft we frequently hire in another aircraft as required."
