West Star Aviation celebrates employee development initiatives; congratulates employees continuing their technical training (CHA)

US MRO specialist West Star Aviation is pleased to announce that four individuals have recently completed additional and specific technical training through the company's Enterprise Training Initiative Program. These programmes are in direct relation to their current or future positions with West Star at its facility at Lovell Field (CHA) in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

- Joshua Borne, aircraft maintenance tech II, completed FlightSafety Falcon 2000EX EASy Maintenance Initial including engine run and taxi.

- Chris Gaston, aircraft maintenance tech II, completed FlightSafety Hawker BAE 125 Series Maintenance Initial including engine run and taxi.

- Paul Daniel, aircraft maintenance tech II, completed FlightSafety Cessna 525B Maintenance Initial including engine run and taxi.

- Mike Smith, Embraer project manager, completed FlightSafety Embraer EMB-545/550 update.

West Star Aviation is dedicated to investing in the development of its employees by providing additional training opportunities to help them perform better and prepare them for future career advancement. This approach is a combination of upskilling and refreshing current technicians' abilities while also actively hiring new technicians and ensuring ongoing training. The benefits result in a higher skilled technical team providing customers with expert service on all fronts while increasing employee engagement. These efforts have also resulted in lower employee turnover, by helping every team member meet their personal and professional long-term goals.

“We are extremely proud of all our team members who choose to continue their professional development with West Star. These efforts mean the difference between “good enough” and the “best of the best”, which is extremely important, as West Star takes great pride in delivering customer aircrafts on-time and squawk-free,” said Steve Goede, general manager (CHA).

This mindset extends beyond just current West Star employees as well. West Star has dedicated initiatives that also focus on ways to hire more apprentices and prepare them to test for their A&P licence. This requires close collaboration with local school districts and community colleges to remove barriers to entering technical colleges. The programme also supports current students in college, along with transitioning military members and/or mechanically inclined people who desire a career change but lack the skills for entry into a career as an AMT. These programmes are offered at all West Star facilities.
