West Star Aviation is expanding its MRO facility at Lovell Field (CHA) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in partnership with Tectonic Management Group. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2025, with completion expected by Q4 2026.

The development includes a 40,000 sq ft maintenance hangar with 15,600 sq ft of attached shop, office and storage space. A separate 34,000 sq ft, two-storey building will provide additional shop space on the ground floor, with the upper level reserved for future office use. Light renovations will also be made to a newly-leased building, formerly Chattanooga Airport’s vehicle maintenance facility, to accommodate carpet cutting, vehicle storage and building maintenance operations.

The expansion reflects a shift in demand toward larger aircraft. “This expansion highlights our ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of our customers as their requirements evolve,” says Allen McReynolds, president and COO of West Star Aviation. “We are investing in infrastructure that not only supports the growing demands of our market but also ensures that we maintain the high level of service our customers expect.”

The project is backed by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County and the TVA Economic Development Group.
