ExecuJet MRO Services Australia has completed its first 20-year maintenance check on a Global Express, the heaviest check that can be carried out on this aircraft type.
The work, which was performed at ExecuJet's facility at Melbourne's Essendon airport, is the heaviest airframe maintenance check one can do on a Global Express, because the oldest aircraft of this type are around 24 years old. The 20-year check is extensive because it involves the cabin interior being removed so as to access areas of the fuselage that require inspecting and testing. In addition, this particular aircraft also needed to have all three landing gears overhauled.
ExecuJet made the most of the downtime by upgrading the inflight entertainment system, that is part of the aircraft's Honeywell Ovation Select cabin management system, and installing USB-C outlets in the cabin for the fast-charging of devices on board.
Grant Ingall, regional vice president Australasia at ExecuJet MRO Services says: “With more Global Express aircraft coming due for this check in the coming years, we are well-positioned as we have the experience and attention to detail. Our clients recognise that we have the capability and capacity to deliver quality services, on-time and cost effectively; that makes ExecuJet MRO Services the preferred MRO partner for business jet owners and operators in Australia and the region.”
ExecuJet MRO Services has been in Australia for more than two decades. Besides Melbourne, it also has heavy maintenance facilities in Perth and Sydney.
